Zoran Šćekić is a multifaceted protagonist and innovator in the field of music. Composer, arranger and performer of classical, jazz and ethnic music, he is also very active in the field of modern avant-garde microtonal music. As an internationally recognised author, he works with large orchestras of Croatian radio and television (symphonic, jazz, tambourine), writes music for theatre and dance performances, and is the winner of many Croatian and international awards and scholarships, including winning first place at the 3rd Annual European Big band Composer Competition in Copenhagen 2016 and won the international competition of the Society of Croatian Composers, which enabled him to release an album for solo piano in natural tuning entitled “Just Music”. He is the author of several colourful publications on microtonal music. He found inspiration for researching microtonal music in the singing of Montenegrins and their fiddle playing. As part of a multimedia art-science project, he also appeared as the inventor of the Z-board microtonal keyboard, which was manufactured in San Diego, USA. He constructed the Stringboard instrument, which he will present at this event.

Jazzz klub Mezzoforte is a mobile jazz club whose beginnings in time and space go back to the former Rog Autonomous Factory. The program orientation, the main purpose of which is to encourage creativity in as large a part of society as possible, is set as broadly as possible. The only requirement for performers is that they perform their author’s program in a creative way. The main activity of the jazzz club Mf is the performance of free intermedia jam sessions, which anyone can participate in and where participants of all possible means of expression are invited to spontaneous group creation, several times also with renowned authors and performers.
