After a global cramp we are happy to announce the re-animation (of the situation) and return to (our) roots. We announce: “World-improvement machine” -> weltverbesserungmaschine.

After a half-a-year forced transition period and with great help from the City of Ljubljana we managed in the past couple of days to inhabit the Ajdovščina underground passage in  the very center of the city – and started to prepare the prerogatives for the envisioned activities in the domain of contemporary experimental art approaches.

Open doors on tuesday, 23rd June 2020 from 15.00!

World-improvement machine is a paraphrase  of the “enlightenment” concept of modern state organization, which puts forward the idea of a smoothly running mechanism. And the progress as a constant process of fine adjustments (and larger repairs) – of such a machine. Progress becomes the motive and the reason – and the improvement may encompass also the economic situation of the little ones.

Progress = From worse to better

Historical view shows the very uneven and awkward functioning of such a machine – break-downs and even major misconceptions. From the times of the enlightened rulers, who gave birth to this idea, the machine gets implemented with the concept of democracy and more effective vertical social mobility. The principle of revolution (or counter-revolution) in the metaphor of a machine can mean a restart or change of direction – when a machine goes in the “wrong” way.
