[lang_si]Cirkulacija² je od 4. do 18. junija 2015 v dvorani Cirkulacije 2 na Tobačni 5 v Ljubljani izvajala dvotedensko koncentrirano dogajanje tehnologije, zvoka in svetlobe, ter performativnih praks. Letošnji naslov projekta je Hrup smo mi: Kulturni vmesniki. Uradna otvoritev je bila v sredo, 10. junija 2015 ob 20.00.

Sodelujoči: Uwe Schüler in Jördis Drawe (Tübingen/Nemčija), Ronald Gonko (Nemčija), Mike Hentz (Nemčija), Ole Wulfers (Nemčija), Borut Savski (Slovenija), Stefan Doepner (Slovenija, Nemčija), Boštjan Leskovšek (Slovenija), Boštjan Čadež (Slovenija), Lina Rica (Hrvaška, Slovenija), Jakob Hariš (Slovenija), Neven Korda (Slovenija), Dominik Mahnič (Slovenija).

Program:

Sobota, 6. junija ob 12.00: prva skupina napredne delavnice na področju elektronike in elektronskega zvoka.

Uwe Schüler je zasnoval sekvencer LuSy, ki ga je udeležencem delavnice predstavil in z Jördis Drawe tudi pomagal sestaviti. Sekvencer je naprava, ki so jo včasih imenovali ritem-mašina. V tem primeru gre za bolj kompleksno napravo, ki pa potrebuje vir zvok – to je običajno sintetizator zvoka. Nekaj enostavnih sintetizatorjev zvoka bomo tudi izdelali.

Torek, 9. junija 2015 ob 12.00:  napredna elektronska delavnica – sekvencer LuSy, 2.skupina. Predviden čas izdelave naprave je en dan – okoli 8 ur, oziroma dva dneva po štiri ure.

Uwe Schüler
je razvijalec elektronskih vezij in intermedijski umetnik iz Nemčije. Njegova polja so analogna glasbena elektronika, zvočni in svetlobni objekti.

Jördis Drawe je umetnica, ki izdeluje elektronske, svetlobne in zvočne naprave.

Skupaj sta ustanovila hišo umetnikov / umetniški center “Kulturgüter-Schuppen” (“umetniško skladišče”) v Tübingenu v Nemčiji. Tam pripravljata delavnice za otroke, študente in umetnike. Principi DIY (naredi sam) in reciklaža materialov je njuna pomembna kritično pozicija, ki se tiče potrošniške družbe. Sodelovanja na festivalih: Transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, Shift Festival Basel, Camp Festival Stuttgart, Tinguely-Museum Basel, Interfiction Kassel, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, NoBudget-Medienfestival Tübingen, Homemade Labor Schweiz, Kunstuni Linz, HfG Karlsruhe, Lab30 Augsburg, FEZ Berlin in še različni drugi DIY-festivali po Evropi.

– 20.00: Javna otvoritev festivala – Mike Hentz in Ole Wulfers

THE FALL (preview OTOMOTO )  -> Padec

Mike Hentz je ameriško-švicarski umetnik, ki deluje v Berlinu. Performer, univerzitetni profesor, neodvisni radijec,  glasbenik, organizator številnih pionirskih projektov na področju medijske umetnosti v 80-ih, 90-ih – in zdaj. Soustanovitelj Minus Delta T, Van Gogh TV in Ponton Media Art Lab. S temi skupinami je sodeloval na festivalih Ars Electronica in Documenta. Hentz je performativni umetnik, glasbenik itd…

Ole Wulfers živi v Berlinu  in deluje kot vizualni umetnik, skladatelj, glasbenik in igralec. Sodeloval je s skupinami Kapaikos, MariaHilf in v 90-ih v Partydiktators, zadnje čase sodeluje  tudi s Phoebe Killdeer.

21.00: Ronald Gonko – Philosophic Sisterhood (Filozofska sesterščina) / performativni koncert

Ronald Gonko, znan tudi kot “Gonko Industries inc.”, je glasbenik iz Berlina, ki zadnjih nekaj let deluje v okviru Berlin Synthesizer Orchestra (BSO), pri katerem iz estetskh razlogov uporabljajo analogne sintetizatorje.

Glasbeni izrazi so izjemno široki: od eksperimentalnih električnih projektov kot je Berlin Synth Orchestra ter anti-elektro Stop Disco Mafia, do akustičnih izrazov v skupinah Kapaikos (Polka-Punk) in Mariahilff (obskurni kantavtorski pristop).

V petkovem nastopu bo uporabil bo različne instrumente, jih uglasil s prostorom in možnostmi, ki jih omogoča ambisonični sistem C² )

(delavnico vodi Jördis Drawe, umetnica iz Tübingena). Spužvija odnesete domov!

21.00: Borut Savski – Tako umira Pravični (zvočno-vizualna alegorija). Pridruži se mu Boštjan Čadež.

Menda je referenca znana: Kristus na križu umira za naše grehe – alegorija arhaičnega žrtvovanja bogovom. Nasilje, ki se izvaja na preseku dveh nasprotnih pravičniških pozicij. Svet hibridnih realnosti – red je kaos in kaos je red – popolnoma nepregledno. Ne se z mano pogovarjat o emociji, je dejal Ata. Dekadenca je popolna, je dejal Šurki. Telo je obsoletno, je dejal Stelarc. Tatooji so samomutilacije, samokreacije, identifikacije. Mali človek drži svet na ramenih. Če mu uspe, bo prihodnost ostala. Ali pa…

21.00: Neven Korda – Urbanistična avtonomija (zvočno-vizualna pripoved)

Performans Urbanističa avtonomija sodi v serijo političih performansov, kot so bili Odgovornost, Kdo, Primer Metelkova, Severozahodno od jugovzhoda, Sedmina. Gre za dretje, nestrpne izjave, jecljanje v specifičnem večvmesniškem okolju.

Poudarki:
– Pomembno je slediti temu, kako se upravlja s heteronomnostjo znotraj teritorija in kako se deluje avtonomno na zunaj. Se pravi, da popravimo tekočega župana, Kapo in Škuc: Na znotraj heteronomni, na zunaj avtonomni. To je AKC Metelkova mesto in to mesto je napadeno.

– AKC Metelkova mesto je prizorišč bojev avtonomije z neodvisno alternativo, nevladnega sektorja z avtentičim delovanjem.

– Avtonomijo opredeljuje avtentičost (nasprotno je orkestracija drugih), drugača produkcija prostora. Avtonomijo se uprizarja, ne pa ozakonja. Kriterij vrednotenja potem ne izhaja iz posamezne notranje avtonomne zahteve neke dejavnosti, temvečiz tej dejavnosti zunanje zahteve ohraniti prostor avtonomen.

21.00:  Stefan Doepner, Boštjan Čadež in Dominik Mahnič – minimalMacroMIDI² (zvočno-vizualni performens)

Slušno prostorska slika temelječa na redukciji virov – minimalen zvok, makro-povečava slikovnega vira, MIDI krmiljeni zvočni sistem in procesiranje zvoka taistih MIDI podatkov v vzorce zvoka, slike in giba.

V sodelovanju z Boštjanom Čadežem in Dominikom Mahničem bomo iz pritekajočih podatkov počasi razvijali zvočno prostorsko sliko v kompleksno podobo, ki jo omogoča večkanalni sistem gibljivih zvočnikov in svetlobnih virov.

Tema Kulturni vmesniki:

Okvirna tema festivala so “kulturni vmesniki”, kar je besedna zveza povzeta iz besedila teoretika novih medijev Leva Manovicha – Teorija kulturnih vmesnikov. Kvaliteta besedila je v tem, da poudarja razširjeno razumevanje vmesnikov (v splošnem: nečesa, kar stoji med nami in realnostjo in vedno reprezentira realnost). Ker vmesniki torej vedno interpretirajo realnost, s tem tudi definirajo kulturo – vzorce razumevanja, obnašanja in uporabe. Med dejanskim in našo interpretacijo je torej vedno kulturni vmesnik, ki bolj ali manj verno odslika podobo. Lahko, da celo podobo iznakaže – laže ali predlaga navidezne resnice (mite, želje, predkoncepcije, ideologije). Seveda nas bolj kot reproduciranje prevalentnih kulturnih vzorcev zanimajo njih predrugačenja.

Kulturne vmesnike za naš namen razumemo omejene na vhodno-izhodne kontrolne in interpretirane sisteme/ površine, vključejemo pa tudi različne načine performativnih pristopov. Na ravni tehničnih izpeljav kontrolnih površin, oziroma izvedenk upravljalnih mehanizmov, smo se skušali oddaljiti od običajnih izvedb. Naša teza je, da kulturni vmesniki diktirajo človeško (in človekovo) kulturo, torej je za odmik od ustaljene kulture potrebno adaptirati interpretativne vmesnike.

Polja delovanja bodo priprava tehnologije in neposredna uporaba na raznolike avtorske zvočno-vizualne načine. K sodelovanju smo povabili mednarodne posameznike, ki imajo bodisi tehnična znanja, in/ali sposobnost samostojnega avtorskega koncepta, ki se udejanji kot specifičen performativni pristop.

Program:

Saturday, 6. june at 12.00: Advanced electronics and electronic sound workshop (first group).

Uwe Schüler has prepared a sequencer project, that he will present and then also help to build together with Jördis Drawe.

Sequencer is sometimes called rhythm-machine. In this case it is a much more elaborate machine, but it needs a sound source – usually a sound synthesizer.  The time needed to finish the machine is one day – 8 hours, or two days per 4 hours. The workshop is not for absolute beginners!

Tuesday, 9. june 2015 – at 12.00: Advanced electronics and electronic sound workshop – LuSy sequencer, 2nd group

Uwe Schüler is electronic engineer and artist, working in the fields of sound and light, but it is always the social contexts that mean a great deal to him.

Jördis Drawe works  with electronic circuits, light and sound.

Together they established the artists’ house/ art center “Kulturgüter-Schuppen” in Tübingen in Germany. They were running workshops for children, students and artists. DIY (do-it-yourself) principles and recycling of materials stand as their critique of consumer society.

They participated at festivals: Transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, Shift Festival Basel, Camp Festival Stuttgart, Tinguely-Museum Basel, Interfiction Kassel, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, NoBudget-Medienfestival Tübingen, Homemade Labor Schweiz, Kunstuni Linz, HfG Karlsruhe, Lab30 Augsburg, FEZ Berlin and other DIY-festivals accross Europe.

Mike Hentz is an American-Swiss artist living in Berlin. Artist, art university professor,  independent radio presenter, musician, organizer of  many pioneering projects in the domain of performing and media arts in 80-s, 90-s – and now. He was co-founder of Minus Delta T, Van Gogh TV and Ponton Media Art Lab. With these groups he was presented at Ars Electronica and Documenta. Hentz is a performing artist, musician etc…

Ole Wulfers studied fine arts and experimental film at the University of Arts Bremen, he lives in Berlin and works as artist, composer, musician and actor. He was part of Kapaikos, of MariaHilf and in the 90s of Partydiktators, recently he is also working with Phoebe Killdeer.

21.00: Ronald GonkoPhilosophic Sisterhood / performance concert

Ronald Gonko, known also as  “Gonko Industries inc.”, is musician from Berlin, lately active in Berlin Synthesizer Orchestra (BSO), using analog synthesizers. His main area is music: from experimental electric projects like BSO and anti-electro Stop Disco Mafia, to acoustic expressions as in groups Kapaikos (Polka-Punk) and Mariahilff (obscure singer-songwriter approach). In solo perfromances explors the boundaries between serious artistic approach and neo-dada.

He will use variety of instruments, tune therm with the C² space and use the possibilities of the C² ambisonic system.

Friday at 22.30: sound performance by participants/ builders of LuSy sequencer: The LuSy Orchestra (Jakob Hariš, Boštjan Leskovšek, Otto Urpelainen, Uwe Schüler, Jördis Drawe, and others).

On friday also video-installation Videotrakt by Lina Rica and Boštjan Čadež will be put on display.

The reference should be clear: Christ dying on the cross for our sins – archaic allegory of sacrifice to gods. Violance performed when two opposing righteous positions clash. The world of hybrid realities – order is chaos and chaos is order – absolutely non-transparent. Don’t talk with me about emotion, said Father. Decadence is extreme, said Šurki. Body is obsolete, said Stelarc. Tatoos are self-mutilations, self-creations, identifications. Little man holds the the world on his shoulders. If he makes it the future might survive. Or else…

21.00: Neven Korda – Urbanistic autonomy (audiovisual narrative)

Performance is part of a series of political performances includingResponsability (Odgovornost), Who (Kdo), Case Metelkova (Primer Metelkova), Northwest of Southeast (Severozahodno od jugovzhoda),Post burial Feast (Sedmina). It is about yelling, intolerant statements, stuttering in the multi-interfacial surroundings.

Main points:
– it is necessary to follow how the heterenomy is managed within the territory, and how the authonomy is practiced on the outside. Meaning – to correct the current mayor, Kapa and Škuc: Heteronomous from within, authonomous from without. This is AKC Metelkova city nad this city is under attack.

– AKC Metelkova city is the war zone between autonomy and independent alternative, between the NGO sector and the authentic activities.

– Autonomy is defined by authenticity (in oposition to the orchestration of others), different production of space. Autonomy is performed, and not legalized. Evaluation criterium is thus not the consequence of individual internal autonomous request of a particular activity, but the consequence of a broader request to keep the space autonomous.

21.00:  Stefan Doepner, Boštjan Čadež and Dominik Mahnič –  minimalMacroMIDI²(sound-visual performance)

An audible space image based on reduction of input – minimal sound, macro image source, MIDI controlled speaker system and post-processing of that very MIDI data for pattern and motion generation.

With a slow flow approximation towards the complexity of our multichannel motion audio-visual system, in cooperation with Boštjan Čadez and Dominik Mahnič I will try to derive this audible space image from the striving particals of lost information.

About Cultural Interfaces:

The framework topic is the so-called “cultural interfaces”, remembered from the text of new-media theorist Lev Manovich – Theory of Cultural Interfaces. The quality of text is in having a broad view on understanding of interfaces (as something that stands between us and the reality – and always there to represent reality). Since the interfaces always interpret the reality, they also determine/ define the culture – patterns of our understanding, behaviour and usages of things. So, between the reality and our perception, there is always a cultural interface, that more or less precisely mirrors the reality. It can even be that it distorts it – it serves lies or would-be realities (myths, preconceptions, ideology). Of course, we are interested in interfaces that are not mere reproductions of the prevalent cultural interfaces, but their transformations. We might even not deal with the truth – but maybe we do.

For our use, we understand cultural interfaces as limited to input-output controls and the interpreting systems/ surfaces, and the performative approaches. On the level of technical solutions of control surfaces – the approaches to controlling mechanisms, we tried to move away from the usual solutions. Our thesis is that cultural interfaces dictate the human (and individual’s) culture, so, in order to move away from the prevalent culture, you need to adapt the interpreting interfaces.

Areas of festival activities will be preparation of technology and immediate use of it in the various artistic sound and visual approaches. We invited international individuals, that have the technical knowledge, and/or the ability to provide an artistic concept that takes up a form of specific performance.

In the first week we intend to do intensive completion of preparations and in the second week (and even before) a series of artistic interventions.

Uwe Schüler
is electronic circuit developer and intermedia artist. Fields: analog music electronics, sound and light objects.
Jördis Drawe
works  with electronic circuits, light and sound.
Together they established the artists’ house/ art center “Kulturgüter-Schuppen” in Tübingen in Germany. They were running workshops for children, students and artists. DIY (do-it-yourself) principles and recycling of materials stand as their critique of consumer society. They participated at festivals: Transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, Shift Festival Basel, Camp Festival Stuttgart, Tinguely-Museum Basel, Interfiction Kassel, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, NoBudget-Medienfestival Tübingen, Homemade Labor Schweiz, Kunstuni Linz, HfG Karlsruhe, Lab30 Augsburg, FEZ Berlin and other DIY-festivals accross Europe.

Mike Hentz
American-Swiss artist living in Berlin. He was co-founder of Minus Delta T, Van Gogh TV and Ponton Media Art Lab. With these groups he was presented at Ars Electronica and Documenta. Hentz is a performing artist, musician and more…

Ole Wulfers
Ole Wulfers studied fine arts and experimental film at the University of Arts Bremen, he lives in Berlin and works as artist, composer, musician and actor. He was part of Kapaikos, of MariaHilf and in the 90s of Partydiktators, recently he is also working with Phoebe Killdeer.

Ronald Gonko
known also as  “Gonko Industries inc.”, is musician from Berlin, lately active is Berlin Synthesizer Orchestra (BSO), using analog synthesizers. He studied visual arts, experimental film and interactive media, but his main area is music: from experimental electric projects like BSO and anti-electro Stop Disco Mafia, to acoustic expressions as in groups Kapaikos (Polka-Punk) and Mariahilff (obscure singer-songwriter approach). In solo perfromances explors the boundaries between serious artistic approach and neo-dada. On the net:
