“Hrupni hrup” No. 1 – Sonic Ideas and Hopes
The electronic music concert series “Hrupni hrup” was initiated with the idea of bringing together in Ljubljana, enthusiasts, connoisseurs, the curious, wanderers, as well as performers and creators of this genre, with relative regularity. The aim is to perform, listen, exchange ideas and experiences, and connect creators within this somewhat sidelined and challenging music scene.
By its very nature, electronic music is open and interactive. It encompasses not only “pure” musical creations—whether standalone or in collaboration with acoustic musicians—but also a broad spectrum of artistic and cultural practices: video and graphic artists, programmers, sculptors, dancers, writers, and more. The vision of this series is to continuously expand and develop the horizons of these intersections and collaborations, mindful that music and art do not build their autonomy of expression solely on the formal and structural characteristics of their mediums. Rather, they are an integral part of the broader socio-political climate in which they emerge and with which they establish a complex web of relations and meanings.
Today, on the one hand, we witness an unprecedented peak in the integration of digital technology and human spirituality, embodied in large language models; on the other hand, we see a culmination of wars, destruction, misery, and suffering of all living beings on the planet. In such times, there seems to be little reason for music. Yet, it remains for us a field of activism, solace, and hope that a better world is possible. Electronic music holds a special place in this endeavor as a realm of yet undiscovered expressive freedoms and possibilities. It offers a chance to manifest humanity through the manipulation of electron flows—from the neural networks of the human brain, across patch bays intertwined with cables, to replicas of neural movements in the virtual domain that manifest as sound in a space filled with like-minded individuals and their infinite receptive associations. Such a broad understanding of electronic music can be captured by the old adage: “something else for someone else.”
Hoping that this initiative fulfills these aspirations and takes root as an enduring artistic and social practice, we invite you to join us and participate according to your own inclination in this collective sonic initiative.

Colin Black is an Australian composer and sound artist whose practice explores sound as a medium of memory, place and transformation. Working with field recordings, voices and electroacoustic composition, he creates sonic environments in which the familiar becomes strange, the distant draws near, and the boundaries between human presence and the surrounding world begin to blur.
For Hrupni Hrup, Black invites us into a space of attentive listening, where sound is not simply heard but encountered: unfolding in time, shaping space, and opening passages between the audible and the imagined. His performance offers an opportunity to suspend habitual ways of listening and enter a shifting landscape of sonic traces, resonances and silences.
Goran Lončarević composes contemporary post-minimalist music, exploring “repetitive son((o))rity” – the borderline space of music as sound as music. He has performed at the festivals “Berlin Livelooping”, “Dolouha Noč”, “Digital/Natural”, “Changeover”, and “Dva sunca fest”. He has collaborated live with Aidan Baker (Nadja), as well as with four European musicians on the “Soundialogues” project. For the “Kreativen vikend” art residency, he created the mixtape “Razbijeniglassovi”, as well as music for the performances and exhibitions “Mother Fear”, “Okeans(((o)))sećanje”, “Love CV”, and “Bacanje kocke”.
Bass Jansson is an artist, musician and performer who connects different mediums together to explore new forms of immersive experience. He combines hardware electronics, custom software, and audiovisual media to create interactive art installations and live performances.
He studied Audio Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in the Netherlands, where he graduated with honors (BSc) in 2017. After moving to Ljubljana, Slovenia, Bass joined Cirkulacija 2 as a member in 2024, where he became immersed in the Slovenian noise scene, which has since had a significant influence on his sound. Alongside his work as a sound artist, he works as an audio engineer, collaborated as an actor in VRT (2025), and developed hardware electronics for the ongoing project “O”. In 2025, he was also the lead producer and coordinator of the projects Prostorskost and Introspekcija. In May 2026, he organized the first edition of the noise festival After Noise Is Noise at Cirkulacija 2.
