AFTER NOISE IS NOISE
We invite you to join us for AFTER NOISE IS NOISE, a four-day gathering dedicated to noise, community, and remembrance, taking place from 19 to 22 May 2026 at Cirkulacija 2.
This first edition is held in memory of Boštjan Leskovšek, noise artist and co-founder of Cirkulacija 2, who passed away on 19 May 2025. Conceived as an annual meeting around this date, the event brings together artists, listeners, and friends to mark his presence, his work, and the space he helped shape.
Over four days, the program moves through performances, shared time, and moments that open up in between. The opening night begins with a memorial for Boštjan, followed by the awarding of honorary memberships to former members of the collective, and a small surprise from within the community.
Across the nights, nine artists bring their own approaches to noise, from dense and physical to minimal and unstable, alongside a jam session that keeps things open and unpredictable.

In memory of Boštjan Leskovšek
Boštjan Leskovšek was a sound artist, poet, performer, and co-founder of Cirkulacija 2. He is considered one of the pioneers of Slovenian experimental sound art and a key figure within the interdisciplinary art platform Cirkulacija 2. He never limited his artistic practice to a single field, but instead contributed with curiosity and inventiveness to movements that left a lasting mark on both the Slovenian and broader artistic landscape. He was an artist who used music and sound to create new dimensions of experiencing the world. As early as the 1990s, he co-founded the POPOPO (POezija PO POšti) movement, which was active between 1996 and 2001. His musical output includes several albums released on the label Trivia Records. In addition to his artistic practice, he was also an active collaborator with RTV Slovenia, where he contributed to the dissemination and promotion of contemporary art and culture.

Performing Artists
Bass Jansson
Bass Jansson is an artist, musician and performer who connects different mediums together to explore new forms of immersive experience. He combines hardware electronics, custom software, and audiovisual media to create interactive art installations and live performances. He studied Audio Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in the Netherlands, where he graduated with honors (BSc) in 2017. As a guitarist and producer, he was active in the bands Ruthless Tabboo (2009–2013) and Atomic Breeze (2019–2021). His most notable artistic collaborations in the Netherlands include several works with YANi: The Sirens (2020), Superposition (2021), and Gaze of the Gods (2022); interactive art installations where sensor-driven movement shapes sound in real-time, all exhibited at Big Art in Amsterdam. With .kunrad, he created TIN 1: rainfall (2016, Utrecht) and Between Copper and Zinc (2022, The Hague), in which sounds from nature merge with technology to create nature-inspired compositions. After moving to Slovenia, he joined Cirkulacija 2 as a member in 2024. In 2025, he contributed to five projects there; working mostly as a musician, but also as an actor in VRT, as a hardware developer for “str O j”, and as the main producer and coordinator of the projects Prostorskost and Introspekcija.

Elvin Brandhi
Elvin Brandhi is an improvising lyricist, producer and sound artist, originally from Bridgend in Wales, but a citizen of the world, moving between Vienna and Kampala, Berlin, Cairo, Dakkar, Marseille and Newcastle. She had a childhood immersed in music every day, and studied painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Her sound production develops on distorted bases that act as an unstable platform on which she sings and performs her improvised stream of consciousness lyrical trips. Deep furious or nonsense, her spoken word lies on explosive and aberrant beats from field recordings, tape, vinyl, instrument and voice. Since 2013 she has played and collaborated with many improvisers including Rhodri Davies, Eugene Chadbourne, Michael Fischer, Gustav Thomas, Greta Buitiké, THF Drenching, Alan Wilkinson, Ventil, WIDT, the former Jungle Brothers MC Sensational, Tony Allen, Pat Thomas and with the Ugandan collective Nyege Nyege. At each stop of her nomadic journey she collaborates with local artists. She has participated in international festivals including CTM (Berlin), Borealis (Bergen), Donaufestival (Krems), Kraak Festival (Brussels), Umlaut festival (Paris,) Total Inertia (Leeds), TUSK (Newcastle), Sonic Acts (Amsterdam) , Counterflows (Glasgow). Among her stable collaborations are the low-fi noise pop duo Yeah You with her father Gustav Thomas, the interdisciplinary duo BAHK with Daniel Blumberg, the INSIN duo with Bashar Suleiman, the project Avril Spleen with Joseph Jadame, the duo Pollution Opera with Nadah El Shazly, and Bad@Maths. She released the LPs Shelf Life (C.A.N.V.A.S), Villaelvin (Hakuna Kulala), Elvin Brandhi (Krai), and OWsT (Xing/Xong collection). Jozo Elektronik
Tit Podobnik, born on June 18, 1985, in Ljubljana. My first encounters with music, in the broadest genre sense, came through my father’s growing collection of LPs, recorded tapes, and later CDs. In elementary school, I took up the guitar, which led me from metal to jazz, where I remained for several years. Toward the end of the 2000s, my work at Radio Študent as a musician, journalist, and activist significantly deepened and broadened my musical horizons. At that time, I also began creating experimental electronic music more seriously, and in 2013 I co-founded the anti-label ŠOP Records with a colleague. At first, we mainly released works by non-musicians and artists who did not identify themselves as musicians, but over time the umbrella organically expanded to include all kinds of creators navigating between self-publishing and established institutions. In addition to my regular work as a programmer, I am currently the official representative of KUD Anarhiv, which has served as a springboard for musical and other creative work over the past ten years and more. Under various pseudonyms, I have released more than 50 records, and at least another 50 in collaboration with other musicians. Around 12 of these releases fall within the noise field, and noise, together with building guitar effects pedals, has been the main focus of my creative work in recent years.

Morče
Morče is an Slovenian experimental noise project by guinea pig lover Maša Močnik. Using recorded sounds of these animals and other found sounds, it places it, following the principles of ready-made art, into collages of noisy sonic structures. Morče has been active since October 2017 and has since appeared at Slovenian and international noise events such as the MrožFest, Zasavje Noisefest International, and NoizZzera Velenje. Guinea pigs’ loud screams shook stages in Brno in the Czech Republic, in London, and on Gran Canaria. For the past two years, Morče operated as a duo with an additional harsh sound, but is now returning to a more feminine ambient style. With its story, Morče aims above all to draw attention to the hidden micro-world; to the lives of all the small and overlooked creatures that are usually drowned out in today’s increasingly urbanized world.

Sist En 343
Sist En 343 (Matjaž Galičič & Miha Novak), a noise group founded in 1999, performed in 2001 at the first DRMK Noise Festival and at the Klubski Maraton Radia Študent. The group is recognized for its distinctive so-called harsh/ambient sound, often described as a “layered and mutilated sonic mass of doomsday.” So far, the duo has released numerous cassettes, CD-Rs, and one small split vinyl record with Sonic Disorder through the legendary American label RRRecords. In 2023, on the occasion of their 25th anniversary, they released a split LP with Dave Phillips, and in 2024 they appeared on the split release the [Thing] together with two projects from Germany and one from Slovenia.

Sachko
Sachko is an interdisciplinary artist who trusts in the unpredictability of her creative process and allows her own feedback to create an unstructured experimental collage. In her spaceship, she transports the listener to another dimension, where improvisation serves as fuel for the dissonant journey. By combining analog and digital approaches, she uses repetitive sounds to create rich textures and an immersion into a hypnotic atmosphere of vast emotion.
